Did you get the title? I was born and raised in Louisiana, pure southern girl. After college I moved to Texas and lived there for about 8 years. In April of 2014, we loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly…. Well not quite! On the drive to Cali, I felt like the Beverly Hillbillies! Hence why I used the little phrase from the theme song. We moved to Southern California, and so I became a Southern Gal in SoCal!
California is so different from the south, and in so many ways. Yes, the housing costs are more expensive, and I randomly here people say “I want to move to Texas! Its been 6 years and I love it here in SoCal!
Our new California home was in Chino. We moved to Chino and had never been there! So when arriving at our new place, we realized that Chino was a dairy farm city. Even worst, we moved right across from a dairy farm! Let me say, my husband was not a very happy camper. See, we both grew up in quite country little towns in Louisiana. Chickens, cows, horses, you name it, we grew up around all of that stuff. I made a joke about it and said “see its like we are home, lol”. Moving across from cows was not that bothersome for me, however, the smell and the flies were a bit much. We dealt with it, needless to say, for about 4.5 years. At the end of 2018, we purchased a home and moved to Los Angeles.
